Our Objective
The FilmRunner Movie Club does not strive to be a team of movie critics; instead, it embraces the role of movie enthusiasts. Although short reviews are provided, the focus is on enjoying the discussion afterward rather than on critiquing. Some weeks, The FilmRunner Club showcases favorite films; other weeks, it explores selections that no one has seen before. In every case, the group conducts at least a bit of research. While not every pick is guaranteed to be a winner, don’t dwell on it as taste is subjective.
Rating System
FilmRunner’s main contributor, Jake, uses a five-star rating system. He avoids overanalyzing the film when assigning the initial score, basing it largely on how much he enjoyed the viewing experience. Afterward, the rating may shift by up to one star in either direction, reflecting the film’s overall quality. Guest contributors are free to use whatever system they want.
